Perfect Conditions
We’ve gotten more snow over the past week, a foot or so. The snow is now around thigh-deep.
The groomers have been running (except, perhaps, for Gaylord’s now-defunct grooming club…) Traffic has been extremely light, and conditions are pretty much perfect. The snow is already deep enough that you have to be careful not to get stuck off-trail.
I just now saw our new John Deere tracked groomer heading back to its base. Keith tells me that it has been running very well. It does hit a lot of branches, since it’s so tall and there has been so much snow on the trees lately.
It was so quiet up on Trail 679 west of Frederic this morning that I spooked a partridge when it was only a few feet away:
Updated 17 December: I did hear that all, or at least almost all of Gaylord’s trails have been groomed. Some trails were taken over by other clubs, and some trail grooming was contracted out.

Wow Rob, You guys have so much snow! Reminds me of when I was there a few years back when state police were shutting down N I75.
I wish I could get some time off to come snowmobiling. Haven’t been up in quite awhile. Miss sledding.
