2010 Season Opener — still waiting …
There was an inch or so of snow on the ground for December 1. Just enough to get the county snowplows out and make driving a bit messy, but not like the past two years where snowmobile trail grooming started promptly on the first of December.
We’re not expecting too many changes for the upcoming season. Our fleet will stay mostly with the Polaris Supersport single-rider machines. We may pick up a few 4 stroke Yamaha Phazers, still looking for a good deal on those.
ATV rentals this summer went OK, considering it was our first year, and a new idea for most people. This year our county and the surrounding counties opened up most county roads for ATV use. Excluded are state roads and some major county roads. This still leaves downtown Grayling inaccessible to ATVs, and they still have to leave our place on a trailer. It does open up new travel routes into Frederic, though. A nice day’s ATV ride could take you from the trailhead through the woods west of Grayling, into Frederic for lunch, and back out through the woods and hills west of Frederic. Hopefully the snow starts falling, and we’ll see you soon!
