6 Inches of New Snow, That’s Better
It’s nice to see 6 inches of new snow on top of that ice we were left with this past week. It all fell between about 4PM and 10PM last night, about an inch an hour. The last pocket of heavy snowfall left at 11pm looked to be right over Starvation Lake, so there is probably more snow there. I plowed most of our lot last night around 10pm — it was quite a bit of snow to move.
Hopefully this snow packs down and sticks to the trails and doesn’t get blown away, exposing the ice underneath. We’ll let our rental snowmobiles out today, but with a caution to watch out for ice underneath the snow.
UPDATE: Diane and I and the kids just took a ride up to Frederic. We saw Keith in the Grayling club’s groomer heading out on the Lovells trail. The Frederic trail was decent, although there were a few spots where the snow had been washed out to show the ice underneath. We rode back on some unofficial trails that were fantastic.
