Finally … Enough Snow

Well, it looks like snowfall is finally picking up.  Here’s what the National Weather Service says this morning:

1116 AM EST FRI JAN 19 2007

…HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL OCCUR ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHERN
LOWER AND EASTERN UPPER MICHIGAN…

.VERY COLD AIR MOVING ACROSS THE RELATIVELY WARMER WATERS OF LAKE
MICHIGAN AND LAKE SUPERIOR WILL CONTINUE TO RESULT IN SNOW
SHOWERS ACROSS NORTHERN MICHIGAN OVERNIGHT THROUGH EARLY
SATURDAY. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO BE HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH
TONIGHT. IN ADDITION…WINDS WILL BE GUSTY LEADING TO AREAS OF
BLOWING SNOW.

We have about 6 inches on the ground now, with more lake effect snow predicted through tonight and into tomorrow.  We’re certainly glad to see the temperatures finally cold enough for snow to fall and stay on the ground.

The local groomers haven’t run yet, but may start this weekend.  We expect pretty light traffic for a January weekend, so it may not be too bad.

We’re opening up our rentals for daily rentals this weekend also — normally we require the full weekend.  Any questions - just give us a call at 1 800 966 3818.
