Good Conditions
Our volunteer groomer drivers are out running, since Sunday. Conditions look pretty good, as long as you’re not going to Gaylord. Traffic near there has been so high that the trails are still brown from Gaylord south to the south end of Otsego Lake. From there south to Grayling the trail looked nice, white, and smooth. The little section I rode last night was perfect.
Last weekend we had several groups up here that all got good rides in. We rented all our machines 2-3 times. I rented one machine Sunday afternoon to a guy that returned it Sunday evening, and had gotten nearly 200 miles of riding in. He said things were a little rough after the weekend but not as bad as a normal Sunday.
Anyway, it looks like winter and rideable snow are finally back here. The temperature right now (6AM) is a nice even 0 deg. F. and I forgot to turn on the block heater in my truck. Brrr!
