Rental Terms

You will need to sign a rental contract stating that you are responsible for damages you cause to each snowmobile. Please read and understand the contract. If you are looking forward to racing your friends or seeing how far you can jump the sled after drinking 7 beers at the local bar, please go away! Far away!

What to Bring

  • Warm Clothes (jacket, boots, mittens, scarf/neck warmer)
  • Driver’s license (all riders)
  • Credit Card (for damage deposit and rental price)
  • Common Sense!

What We Supply You

  • Snowmobiles!
  • Helmets (full-face modular helmets).
  • Insulated bib overalls.

Checking Out the Snowmobiles

  • Compare equipment against checklist because you are responsible for missing items.
  • Look for any existing equipment damage and let us know.
  • Check gas and oil levels.
  • Make sure you are familiar with engine starting, running, refueling, and shut down procedures.

When You Leave

  • Ensure you are familiar with the area and trails. Do you have maps? A GPS or compass?
  • Arrange riding plan / strategy for safety:
    • Know where you are going.
    • Monitor location of all snowmobiles in group; don’t lose anybody!
    • Arrange backup / “in case we get lost” plans.
    • Don’t run out of gas! Refuel within 100 miles at the very most.

On the Trail

  • Stay on the trail - riding off-trail in the woods is very dangerous due to the possibility of hidden stumps, logs, etc.
  • Pay attention to trail signs.
  • Stop and look before crossing roads.
  • Ride defensively.
  • Adjust speed to conditions - don’t ride too fast for the terrain, visibility, trail conditions.
  • Pay attention to hand signals when meeting other riders. Indicate the number of sleds in your own group that come behind you by holding up that many left hand fingers - show a closed fist when you bring up the rear.
  • Lock the sleds together and take your keys and helmet when leaving the sleds unattended for some time (lock is in storage compartment behind the seat).
  • Let the engine idle and warm up before taking off again after the sleds have been parked for an hour or more.
  • Check the oil reservoir at each fuel stop and top off with 2-stroke injection oil if needed. Do not run the engine with an empty oil reservoir!
  • Never use a glove to wipe the shield on your helmet - such scratches will ruin it!
  • Respect the environment - take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but tracks.
  • Don’t drink and drive!
  • Be Safe!
