Snow Again

After last week’s warm period came a dramatic change. In about 4 hours the temperature dropped from 40 degrees to 5, and the rain changed to snow. Every road was covered with ice, and the 40+mph winds and zero visibility made driving a challenge. It was hard to tell how much snow fell due to the high winds and drifts. A few more inches fell with the Thursday/Friday storm that brought much more snow to the south. All in all I think it was around 6 inches of snow this week. The National Weather Service Snow Depth map shows around 10-12 inches all around our area:

Trail grooming started up again, with all three of our club’s tractors running. Traffic was very light this weekend (is there some football game on today?). We heard generally good reports for snow conditions, although a few people said that Lewiston, Gaylord, and Frederic trails were a bit rough on Saturday.
