Winter is Here, Trails are Groomed

Grooming started this weekend, after the Grayling area got around 8+ inches of heavy, wet snow Saturday.  Right now snow depth is around 10 inches.  Reports from the trail groomers, Keith in particular, are that conditions are excellent.  The heavy snow seems to be packing down well, a pleasant surprise at the beginning of the season.  The weather forecast calls for snow and cold temperatures into the weekend, so it looks like a good weekend coming up.

Many rumors seem to be flying around the Internet concerning trail grooming clubs and this year’s grooming contracts with the DNR.  Many clubs have not signed grooming agreements with the state, but the Au Sable Valley Snowmobile Club does have an agreement, and is actively grooming the trails.

It appears the Grayling and Gaylord trails are being groomed, but all surrounding areas, and about 30 clubs in total, are not yet grooming trails.

New for us this winter?  We have two new Polaris Supersports, so all our machines are Polaris this year.  The last two Arctic Cats fell victim to trees and stupidity last winter.  Again, if you are looking to find our machines’ top speed or see how far and high they will fly, please go somewhere else.  Far Away.
